Toenail Fungal Infection Treatment Is Pain A Symptom Of Toenail Fungal Infections?

Is pain a symptom of toenail fungal infections? - toenail fungal infection treatment

My two big toenails have been a yellow since last summer. I thought it was probably with an old nail polish. Then a month ago I woke up and my left big toe was very painful to touch. I accuse the shoes sharp suit he wore the day before (but never had problems before). A week later, I still have a lot of pain at the base and sides of the nail is seen in inflammation, also attended. I went to a podiatrist and was diagnosed as a fungal infection .- clean around the nail and prescribed an antibiotic. Is now 1 month later, my finger is still very sensitive to touch, still swollen at the base of the nail and did not increase at all in about 2 months. The doctor said the only thing that remains to be done, remove the nail to relieve and stop the pain. All other ad that I read about fungal nail infections do not list pain as a symptom. Is there another possible diagnosis or treatment before the nails?
